Our Community
St. Agnes’ is a welcoming and vibrant community. We work towards building strong relationships between school, parents, our parish and our local community.
We are a community that values connection, partnership and learning. We are characterised by a safe environment with a supportive parent and parish community. There are many opportunities for parents to be involved with our community through an active and highly valued Parent’s and Friends Comittee, School Advisory Council and social activities for parents and for families. We welcome and value all contributions from our families.
Parents and Friends Committee
St Agnes’ Parents & Friends Committee exists to support the school. Its role is to organise social events, raise funds and assist with the pastoral care of our community.
It is an excellent way for parents to connect and work together for the benefit of the children. While there is no set fundraising target for the year, all funds raised go to improving the school environment, and/or purchasing resources, which in turn, directly benefits all students.
School Advisory Council
The role of the School Advisory Council (SAC) is to advise the Principal and Parish Priest. The SAC aims to work in the best interests of St Agnes’ community and to assist and foster the growth and development of Catholic Education in Highett. Members are also responsible for communicating new developments and progress reports to the school community. It is another great avenue for parent participation in the life of our school.
